Lindsay Lohan Visits Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
Now that she's back in Los Angeles, Lindsay Lohan is around those same old familiar people and places that make for a much higher chance of relapse.
This being the case, the Georgia Rule actress is making sure that she continues on with her treatment, as she was spotted last night leaving the mental health unit of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
While there hasn't been any confirmation as to the reason for the trip, recent reports tell that LiLo is part of new controversial anti-addiction treatment.
An insider told Star magazine that Lindsay will be under the care of Matthew Torrington, M.D., medical director of the PROMETA Center, which specializes in treating alcohol, cocaine and methamphetamine addictions.
"In my clinical experience, I have found the treatment to be very, very effective and an incredible aid to people who are suffering," Dr. Torrington told Star, but couldn't confirm that Lindsay is his patient due to confidentiality restrictions.
But the lack of clinical studies has some professionals in the medical world worried about the effectiveness of Dr. Torrington's methods.
"At this time, there is no peer-reviewed research that has been done on the treatment," David Kan, M.D., a substance-abuse expert at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco, told Star, adding, "There is also no evidence to suggest it is productive
