Two injured as aircraft crashes
Two people have been injured after a small aircraft crashed in a field in County Down.
The plane came down in a valley a few miles outside Kilkeel at about 1500 GMT on Friday.
A police spokeswoman said she believed the injuries of those involved are not life-threatening.
Councillor Henry Riley said it was a mystery as to why the aircraft had crashed. "The weather conditions were fine, there was absolutely no wind."
It is understood the pilot of the plane was a local businessman.
Mr Riley said he was a very experienced pilot.
"He has been flying for 30 or 40 years maybe. He would be well regarded for his aeronautical skills," he said.
